  -  Measuring Success

Implementation of education reform initiatives supported with grant funds are by nature complex.  No matter how well designed they are, their appropriate implementation most often depends on experience with the process.  Continuous monitoring of the progress of grant-funded school wide and district wide projects - and a shared understanding of the program's goals - serve to maintain focus, improve effectiveness and accountability, ensure parent and participant satisfaction and success, and identify necessary changes.

Carol A. Keating Consulting will help properly implement grant-funded initiatives by:

  • Continuously monitoring grant-funded project components to assess whether key features are working as intended;

  • Preparing necessary partnership agreements;

  • Ensuring families and partners are included, not excluded in completing evaluations;

  • Continuously gathering information to assess progress toward established goals;

  • Measuring strategies’ effectiveness;

  • Using data to determine whether efforts are achieving desired results;

  • Engaging the school, community and other stakeholders in the evaluation processes;

  • Reflecting an understanding of the schools and community contexts;

  • Using varied perspectives to examine grant-funded programs and activities;

  • Gathering all relevant information;

  • Ensuring a focus on goals and objectives for program strategies, and using them as guides for continuous assessment;

  • Clarifying assumptions about how grant-funded program components should be working;

  • Selecting indicators of success;

  • Developing evaluations, surveys and questionnaires;

  • Facilitating teacher-developed evaluations;

  • Collecting information and data; and,

  • Analyzing, and using information and data for continuous program improvement
